Williamston Day 2!!!!! (L_Hunters and Jumpers)
Friday
Schooling & Dressage
Today, we started off by schooling in the indoor arena after morning chores to practice our jumping courses for tomorrow. We schooled the courses at 2' and Odin was so good. Our first few courses had iffy distances, and one scary jump with a blue pole, where Odin slams the brakes on, so we try again, and he jumps so much better. We did the EQ course one more time before the Hunter Hack, and our distances were a lot better. We finished with the Hunter Hack, which is just 2 jumps. So we go and get a great canter transition, and then my sister drops my phone in the stands, and Odin spooks, so we have to circle and try again. We also struggle with the distances, but other than that, he's great.
Dressage
I'm so excited for Dressage, until I see how many people are in my class. I go in for my first class, and I go straight into the arena and then make a left loop around so I have space. We were calmly walking on the rail until a small group of kids were running to get a seat, and he spooked at them. Now Odin doesn't like spook like other horses do, but instead he spins away and bucks at the scary things, so he does that, and I almost lose my left stirrup as he does that, so I have to jam my foot in it, so I don't lose it. I pull him in a circle as soon as his feet land and then continue walking on the rail. Then he spooks at the speakers and starts trotting. We placed 5th in that class. After that J wants me to trot around the schooling ring for a little bit until our next class, and right before we head back for our next class, Odin spooks and bucks, and I almost go over his shoulder. I wrap myself around his neck, and my sister stops him as he's walking around with me on his neck. We have our next class, and its a little better, and we placed 4th. Overall, Odin did awesome.💜💜💜
