I rode Miso!!!! (Odin update) (L_Hunters+Jumpers)
Over the weekend, my sister(M_Equestrian) took her pony to the hunt horse complex for the state fair, and I went along to help out. Sunday is just flat classes, and I get up early to help and watch. The indoor arena is open for schooling right before they start, so I walk Miso's new owner, H, around in the arena to help them relax. They drag right before they start the first class, so we head up to one of the schooling arenas while they drag. As we leave the arena, H hops off to run to the bathroom, so J passes me her helmet and tells me to go trot her around. I go to the arena, and there is no mounting block, so I ground mount. I get partway on, to the point where I just need to put my leg over when she starts to move, so I make her stand before I put my leg over. I walk her around, let her get used to her surroundings before I let her trot. She was a bit tense and kept looking around. Once we had walked for a few minutes, we started trotting. I immediately put her brain to work doing circles, changing direction, whatever, and she was so good and focused on what we were doing, and even had a dressage headset. Then H comes back and hops on. I've ridden Miso twice before Sunday. The first time was in a lesson, and we jumped like 2 feet. The second time was at Portofino for XC schooling. Thanks, J, for letting me ride her!!!
