About Odin (L_Hunters+Jumpers)

 Odin is the grey,17.2hh, OTTB, that I'm currently leasing. The lease started in December, but before that, when J sent out the list of horses, I knew I wanted him. Odin kinda made a bad reputation for himself with F. At all of the shows, he would be bucking his way around the arena, and that's what everyone saw, not all the times he was actually good, so everyone didn't want to ride him or was scared to ride him.

 December

 December was the first month of the lease, so we were all just getting to know our new horses. My second lease ride on Odin, he bucked me off. I fell forward and just wrapped myself around his neck. I was too far forward to slide back in the saddle. We also had a few more bucks that day. December is also our first show with them. During our show prep lesson we had quite a few bucks and I was surprised that I stayed on. Finally it’s show day!!! I’m so excited and Odin looks beautiful in his Christmas outfit 🎅🏻🤩.  Our first 2 courses, our warmup, and classic go great and we get 2nd in the classic. Next is optimal time. J blows the whistle right as we get in so I go straight towards our first jump. We have a perfect trot as we reach the jump and then the next thing I know I’m crashing to the ground with the sound of the jump. Me and Odin stand up around the same time and immediately go to him and wrap my arms around him and start to cry. J comes over and says to walk him around a little bit to see if he’s ok, we’re both fine. Then we left the arena and I got back on to do the next courses. We get 1st in both and champion for the day. After ,while I’m untacking him, I’m thinking about our fall and I’m thinking about how if I just took the time and made a opening circle I wouldn’t have happened but it’s done and over with so I can’t go back. For Christmas we got our bestie a lease ride with us so we’re there and I’m tacking up and I go to do the girth and next thing I know his back leg I flying everywhere as he’s kicking out. I get J and she says it’s probably his back so she says I can ride Boomerang. Everyone else is ready, so I speedy groom and tack up. I loved riding Boomerang and he was a lot of fun.
